Collaboration with Newcastle university
According to the fact sheet of World Health Organization, over the past 4 years there is an increasing number of people who are diagnosed with obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It remains as one of the foremost causes of death in the world including Singapore.
In November 2014, Lam Soon has collaborated with the research team from Newcastle University (School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development) on a research to determine if a proposed dietary plan using “Naturel Extra Virgin Olive Oil” as the principal source of fat, can reduce the risks of cardiovascular diseases. The outcomes of the research will provide more information on the effects of dietary changes on the risk of heart diseases and help create a suitable cardio-protective diet for Singaporeans. Lam Soon has also sponsored “Naturel Extra Virgin Olive Oil” for experiment to approximately 30-40 participants over a period of 12 weeks. |
